SMK & PM (ECM/TCM) Control Module (Authentication Fail)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Hyundai Kona. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Smart Key system (SMK) consists of a Smart Key module, power distribution module (PDM), external receiver, and Smart Key holder. On the other hand, the SMK (smart key) system without a FOB holder has an embedded Demodulator which is connected to the SSB with two immobilization coil lines. The Smart Key unit transmits authentic signals to the engine ECM and receives an ignition approval signal to start the engine through this process.
