Removal And Installation

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
  2. Remove the battery.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")

  3. Disconnect the ECM connector (A).
  4. Remove the mounting bolts and nut, and then remove the ECM bracket assembly (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 Nm (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  5. Remove the ECM (B) after loosening the mounting nuts (A) from the bracket.

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 Nm (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE:
    • Install the Engine Control Module (ECM) to the specified torque.
    • If the ECM is dropped, it may cause internal damage. (Do not reuse)
