DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • During ECM off (engine off), check that engine off timer is incrementing
  • ECM
Enable Conditions Case1
  • Warmed up condition met at previous DC
  • ECT at previous DC is greater than 55°C (131°F)
  • IAT deviation is greater than 0°C (32°F)

    (IAT deviation is difference between IAT at key off previous DC and IAT at key on)

  • ECT deviation is greater than 40°C (104°F)

    (ECT deviation is difference between ECT at key off previous DC and ECT at key "ON")

  • IAT or ECT circuit fault not present
Case2
  • Warmed up condition met at previous DC
  • ECT at previous DC is greater than 55°C (131°F)
  • IAT deviation is greater than 0°C (32°F)

    (IAT deviation is difference between IAT at key off previous DC and IAT at key on)

  • ECT deviation is greater than 40°C (104°F)

    (ECT deviation is difference between ECT at key off previous DC and ECT at key "ON")

  • IAT or ECT circuit fault not present

  • Engine off timer is less than threshold (engine off timer at key "ON" too slow)

  • Engine off timer is greater than threshold (engine off timer at key "ON" too fast)
