Repair Procedures: Inspection: Notes

Starter solenoid inspection 

1. Disconnect the "M" terminal (A) of solenoid switch after removing the nut.

   Tightening torque 

   9.8 - 11.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

2. Connect the battery between the solenoid terminal and starter body.

3. Connect the "M" terminal.

   Tightening torque 

   9.8 - 11.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)

   NOTE:

   • To avoid damaging the starter, do not leave the battery connected for more than 10 seconds.
4. Replace the starter when pinion gear does not move to outside.
5. Disconnect the "M" terminal again.
6. Replace the starter when pinion gear move to inside.
