DTC P0112-00: Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input: General Description

The intake air temperature sensor (IATS) is installed into the manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAPS) and detects the intake air temperature. to calculate precise air quantity, correction of the air temperature is needed because air density varies according to the temperature. So the ECM/PCM uses not only MAPS signal but also IATS signal. The IATS uses a thermistor which resistance changes with the temperature. The electrical resistance of the IATS decreases as the temperature increases, and increases as the temperature decreases.
