Remove & Installation (3.9L V8 - 1990-1992)

  1. Remove front and side seat base trim of front right hand seat. Adjust seat to its most rearward position and raise seat cushion height to allow access to ECM fixings. Disconnect battery negative terminal. Release ECM connector retaining clip. See Fig 1. Maneuver front of connector (in direction of bold arrow shown in illustration) and detach other end of connector from retaining peg.
  2. Release 2 screws securing ECM to mounting bracket. Withdraw ECM from spring clip and remove it from vehicle.
  3. To install, install ECM securely in spring clip and fit and tighten 2 screws. Reconnect ECM harness connector. Ensure that connector is pushed firmly into its location and that retaining clip secures connector in position. Reverse remaining removal procedure.
