DTC P0121-P0123: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Circuit: Notes

NOTE: For additional diagnostic information, see THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR MONITORING  under SYSTEM MONITORS.
NOTE: On models equipped with advanced EVAP systems, if DTC P0451 is present, troubleshoot DTC P0451 before TP sensor DTCs. TP sensor and fuel tank pressure sensor share a 5.0 volt reference voltage. A fuel tank pressure sensor failure that causes a short circuit will affect TP sensor output and set a TP sensor DTC.
NOTE: The advanced EVAP system was introduced on all North American specification vehicles from October 1996 and the vehicles can be recognized by the information contained in the EVAP FAMILY entry on the underhood emission label (mounted on the vertical face of the hood lock platform). Vehicles equipped with advanced EVAPS start with VIN No. VLR1124AYPFE. Vehicles not equipped with advanced EVAPS end with VIN No. VLR1060AYPBC.
