Error Messages

  1. Three instrument panel warning lights may illuminate when steering column repairs are performed:
    • Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)
    • Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
    • Anti-lock Brakes (ABS)
  2. ERROR messages may be displayed on the message center and it may not be possible to achieve equal turns the steering wheel from lock-to-center-to-lock. See SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Several possible causes for these symptoms may be present:
    • A NEW steering angle sensor requires calibration.
    • The timing marks for aligning the steering wheel are not aligned. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN article.
    • The steering wheel has been aligned to the incorrect timing mark.
    • The track rod ends are incorrectly set.
