Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Knock Sensor (KS)

Removal

NOTE: The knock sensors are supplied as a pair.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the intake manifold assembly.
3. Remove the knock sensors (KS).
^ Disconnect the electrical connector.
^ Remove the 2 bolts.





Installation
1. Install the KS.
^ Clean the component mating faces.
^ Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
^ Install the NVH pad.

^ Connect the electrical connector.
2. Install the intake manifold assembly.
3. Connect the battery ground cable.
