Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor

Removal
1 Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Specifications Service and Repair
2 Remove the throttle body gasket. For additional information, refer to Throttle Body Gasket Service and Repair




3 Remove the ECT sensor.
- Position an absorbent cloth to collect fluid spillage.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

Installation
1 To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Clean the components.
- Tighten the ECT sensor to 18 Nm (13 lb.ft).
- Top-up the coolant.
