LAND ROVER: LR4; Range Rover Sport; New Range Rover

301000 Service Brake System

NOTE: This applies to 10 model year only, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery 4/LR4

Issue

Warranty analysis indicates that ABS Modulators and Yaw Rate Sensors on 10MY vehicles are being changed because any of the following diagnostic trouble codes are being flagged:-

C0063-14 Yaw Rate Sensor circuit short to ground or open.

U0123-00 Lost communication with Yaw Rate Sensor Module

C1A77-16 Valve Relay Supply Circuit voltage below threshold

U0126-00 Lost communication with Steering Angle Sensor Module

U3000-53 Control Module de-activated

CONTENT

Analysis of returned parts indicates that they are "No Fault Found".

Cause

On 10MY vehicles only, these diagnostic trouble codes can falsely flag due to software and/or hardware incompatibility issues. This has previously been highlighted in SSM 41702.

Action

If the customer is not reporting issues related to the ABS/DSC system, the diagnostic trouble codes should be cleared and the vehicle taken on a road test to check if they return. If they do not return, no further action is necessary. If any diagnostic trouble codes do return then appropriate action in line with diagnostic trouble codes help text should be taken.
