External Controls: Introduction

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Land Rover LR4, 2012 Land Rover LR4, 2011 Land Rover LR4, and 2010 Land Rover LR4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The external controls for the transmission consist of a selector lever assembly and a selector cable.

The selector cable transmits the position of the selector lever to the transmission.

The selector lever position is displayed on the selector lever position display and the M/S (manual/sport) display. The selector lever position and current forward gear are also displayed in the instrument cluster. Refer to Transmission Description information.
