The adaptive speed control radar sensor is located in the front bumper, in a central position behind a flat cover.

If a front licence/number/tag plate is fitted, it must not be positioned so that it interferes with the radar beam. If the lower edge of the plate intrudes into the lower grill opening, then it will interfere with the radar beam.

The sensor is connected to other vehicle systems via the high speed CAN bus. If the unit is replaced in service, the unit must be realigned vertically. Horizontal alignment is achieved by putting the sensor in service mode using an approved Jaguar diagnostic system.

The vehicle is then driven for a short period while the sensor calibrates itself. Calibration is complete when the 'follow' icon in the instrument cluster stops flashing.
