Restraints Control Module

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 16 other vehicles, including the 2015 Jaguar XFR-S, 2015 Jaguar XFR, 2015 Jaguar XF, 2014 Jaguar XFR-S, and 2014 Jaguar XFR. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The restraints control module is mounted on the transmission tunnel below the floor console.

When an impact condition is registered, the restraints control module outputs an impact signal on the high speed CAN bus. This signal is used by the CJB to initiate the hazard warning lamps. If this occurs, the hazard warning lamp switch is disabled for the remainder of the current ignition cycle.

If the restraints control module detects a fault with the system, it outputs a message on the high speed CAN bus to the instrument cluster message center. On receipt of this, the message center will display the message Check Pedestrian System.
