DTC P0116-22: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit Range/Performance - Signal amplitude > maximum: Action
- Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system check datalogger signals - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (0x0357) - Engine Coolant Temperature (0xF405) - Engine Coolant Temperature (0xF467)
- Inspect connectors for signs of water ingress, and pins for damage and/or corrosion
- Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the engine coolant temperature sensor circuit for short circuit to power
- Check and install a new engine coolant temperature sensor as required
- Check coolant system for blockages or restrictions that prevent coolant flow
- Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check electric cooling fan - main, circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance
- Check and install a new electric cooling fan - main, as required
