DTC B0074-1A: Second Row Center Seatbelt Pretensioner Deployment Control - Circuit resistance below threshold: Action

WARNING: Do not measure the resistance of a deployable device using any other method than that described below

NOTE:

A shorting bar inside the connector (deployable device side) intentionally creates a short circuit until the wiring harness connector is installed AND the connector plunger is engaged
The total resistance of the airbag circuit (including harness, connectors, airbag) should be 1.70 ohms to 3.6 ohms between -40 deg C to +85 deg C
When the airbag connector is DISCONNECTED if the locking plunger can move to the locked position easily (reasonable pressure) the connector is damaged

Visually inspect the second row center seatbelt retractor and pretensioner connector, the locking plunger should be flush with the housing. If not, push the locking plunger in. Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest
Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check datalogger signal - Deployment Control 28 Resistance (0x5B42). If the resistance is too low, disconnect and reconnect the second row center seatbelt retractor pretensioner connector, making sure that the connector plunger is correctly engaged. Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest
Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the second row center seatbelt retractor pretensioner circuit for short circuit between power and ground
If a wiring fault is detected, repair the wiring as required
If no wiring harness fault exists, using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest. If no wiring harness fault exists, using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest, if the fault persists, install a new second row center seatbelt retractor and pretensioner as necessary
