- Engine running
- Prioritized Checks to Perform
- Check the installation of the crankshaft position sensor. Rectify as necessary
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the crankshaft position sensor circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Check the electrical connectors for evidence of water ingress. Check the terminals for damage and corrosion. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
- Check the crankshaft position sensor to reluctor ring air gap. Rectify as necessary
- Install a new crankshaft position sensor
