DTC B14B6-01: USB Port #1 - General electrical failure: Action
- Using a known good USB device, check the USB source is active on the screen, if the USB source is active go to step 13, if the information is not displayed go to step 2
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, perform routine - On Demand Self Test (0x0202) and read the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s). If the DTC is set go to step 3, if the DTC is no longer set go to step 13
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and disconnect USB#1 cable from the user interface panel
- Measure the voltage between pin 2 of the USB#1 and a local ground connection on the vehicle
- If the voltage is between 4-6 volts, go to step 11, if not go to step 6
- If the voltage is greater than 6 volts, go to step 7, if not go to step 9
- Disconnect the USB#1 cable from the front infotainment control module and measure the voltage between pin 3 of the front infotainment control module connector harness side and a local ground connection on the vehicle
- If the voltage is greater than 6 volts, rectify the short circuit, replace the cable and go to step 2, if not go to step 13
- Disconnect the USB#1 cable from the front infotainment control module and measure the resistance between pin 3 of the front infotainment control module connector harness side and a local ground connection on the vehicle
- If the resistance is less than 1Ω, replace the cable and go to step 2, if not go to step 13
- Reconnect all connections and perform routine - On Demand Self Test (0x0202). If the fault persists install a new user interface panel
- Check the front infotainment control module software release notes to see if a repair is available and update the front infotainment control module and repeat step 2. If no software update is available go to step 13
- Check for other Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) relating to the customer concern and follow the DTC index
