DTC P0702-98: Transmission Control System Electrical - Component or system over temperature: Action

Prioritised steps to perform:
Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the transmission control module for related Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and refer to the relevant DTC index
Check for debris blocking the air flow to the automatic transmission cooler. Clear debris as necessary
Check the condition of the automatic transmission cooling system
Check the transmission fluid level using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to run the 8-speed ZF - Automatic Transmission Fluid Level Check Application. Refer to the appropriate service information and check the automatic transmission fluid quality. If the condition is unsatisfactory, raise a Technical Assist (TA) for further support
Clear the DTC. Perform a road test of sufficient duration to allow the vehicle to reach normal operating temperature
Re-check Diagnostic Trouble Code(s)
If the fault persists, raise a Technical Assist (TA) for further support
