DTC P177E-07: Transmission Friction Element B or C - Mechanical failures: Action
- Prioritised steps to perform:
- Check the transmission fluid level using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to run the 8-speed ZF - Automatic Transmission Fluid Level Check Application. Refer to the appropriate service information and check the automatic transmission fluid quality. If the condition is unsatisfactory, raise a Technical Assist (TA) for further support
- If oil condition is OK proceed with diagnostic checks
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check for Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) in the transmission control module relating to input/turbine shaft speed sensor or output shaft speed sensor. Refer to the relevant DTC index. Rectify these Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) first
- Check driveline components for physical condition, security and correct parts fitted
- Check adaptions in transmission for a minimum of 3 counts in each clutch. Perform adaptions process using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment if necessary
- Complete a road test. Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check datalogger signals - Turbine Speed (0x1E72) - Transmission Output Shaft Speed (0x1E68) - for plausibility and signal quality. Values will be the same when driving vehicle in 6th gear (1:1 gear ratio)
- If the fault persists, raise a Technical Assist (TA) for further support
