P2299-23: Brake Pedal Position/Accelerator Pedal Position Incompatible - Signal stuck low: Action
- Vehicle Conditions to enable DTC Logging Strategy
- Accelerate vehicle continuously for 2 minutes, make sure brake pedal not pressed throughout. A simpler test process being through off board scan tool monitor the status of "Engine Input 1" "brake switch" and "brake switch 2". When the brake pedal is not pressed both parameters should equal 0
- Prioritized Checks to Perform
- Check powertrain control module for related Diagnostic Trouble Codes and refer to relevant DTC index
- Check that the brake pedal switch is mounted and correctly positioned on the mounting bracket/pedal box
- Check for smooth operation of the brake pedal switch plunger
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check brake pedal switch 1 circuit for open circuit, short circuit to power, short circuit to ground
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check brake pedal switch 2 circuit for open circuit, short circuit to power, short circuit to ground
