DTC B129D-12: Right Front Side Sensor - Circuit short to battery: Action
NOTE:
DO NOT
replace the near field sensing module for this DTC
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment inspect the status bits for this DTC on the appropriate DTC Index. For this DTC, any one of the following combination status bits need to be set for the DTC to be valid (for example, there is a "Yes" against all of the status bits listed below)
- Test Failed (Bit 0)
- Test Failed This Operation Cycle (Bit 1)
- or
- Confirmed DTC (Bit 3)
- If none of the above combinations are valid ignore this DTC (the customer may not have experienced non-operation of the near field sensing system features)
- If the DTC is valid (any one of the combinations is true) follow the instructions below
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the front right side park assist sensor signal circuit for short circuit to power. Repair or install a new wiring harness as necessary
- Inspect the connector for integrity and damage, then reconnect sensor to confirm connection
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest
- If the fault persists remove the sensor at fault from the bumper. Inspect the sensor connector for signs of water ingress/corrosion. Swap the position of the sensor at fault into the position of a fault-free sensor. Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest. If a DTC is set for the new position of the sensor at fault, install a new sensor. Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest
