DTC B1A0B-96: Steering wheel hands on detection module - Component internal failure: Action
NOTE:
To validate the repair firstly run the engine for 60 seconds, then use the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to confirm this Diagnostic Trouble Code is no longer set within the gateway module
- Inspect the installation and condition of the startup battery terminal clamps. Rectify as necessary
- Inspect the installation and condition of the hands on detection, steering wheel switches, and clockspring connectors. Rectify as necessary
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and inspect the LIN bus circuit between the gateway module and the hands on detection module for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s), lock the vehicle and wait two minutes. Unlock the vehicle and retest. If the fault persists, install a new steering wheel as required
