DTC U0400-87: Invalid Data Received - Missing message: Action
NOTE:
DO NOT
replace the near field sensing module for this DTC alone
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment inspect the status bits for this DTC on the appropriate DTC Index. For this DTC, any one of the following combination status bits need to be set for the DTC to be valid (for example, there is a "Yes" against all of the status bits listed below)
- Test Failed (Bit 0)
- Test Failed This Operation Cycle (Bit 1)
- or
- Confirmed DTC (Bit 3)
- If none of the above combinations are valid ignore this DTC (the customer may not have experienced non-operation of the near field sensing system features)
- If the DTC is valid (any one of the combinations is true) follow the instructions below
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, read DID 0xF188 - Vehicle Manufacturer ECU Software Number in ECU Diagnostics - Near Field Sensing Module (NFSM) (this DID is displayed on the main page, when opening the ECU)
- If the Vehicle Manufacturer ECU Software Number is up to M8A2-19J243-AE, this DTC is incorrectly set by the near field sensing module. Update the near field sensing module software to the latest level and retest
- If the Vehicle Manufacturer ECU Software Number is up to M8A2-19J243-AF or later, using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the snapshot data in DID 0xD020 to determine the invalid data source control module. Check the relevant control module for related Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and refer to the relevant DTC index
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) cycle the ignition and retest
