DTC B1087-88: LIN Bus "A" - Bus off: Action

Check the steering wheel switch functionality by operating the volume +/- switch and observing the volume display on the screen. If the volume function is working go to step 10, if not go to step 2
Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, perform routine - On Demand Self Test (0x0202) and read the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s). If the DTC is set go to step 3, if the DTC is no longer set go to step 10
Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and disconnect the LIN cable from the steering wheel module
Measure the voltage between pin 13 of the LIN cable and a local ground connection on the vehicle
If the voltage is between 9-16 volts, go to step 9, if not go to step 6
Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and disconnect the LIN cable from the front infotainment control module (C1, black connector)
Measure the resistance between pin 18 of the LIN cable front infotainment control module connector harness end and pin 13 of the LIN cable steering wheel module connector harness end
If the resistance is greater than 1Ω, replace the cable and go to step 2, if not go to step 9
Check the front infotainment control module software release notes to see if a repair is available and update the front infotainment control module and repeat step 2. If no software update is available go to step 10
