DTC B1539-53: Electrically Deployable Tow Bar Locking Motor - Deactivated: Action

NOTE: The outputs on the tow bar control module can only be reactivated twice. If an output has been deactivated three times, the module will have to be replaced to restore functionality

Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the deployable tow bar locking motor circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, perform routine - Enable Protected Outputs (0x205E). Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) and retest
Check the deployable tow bar mechanism for obstructions and debris. Check that the trailer socket can be moved upwards with minimal resistance. Rectify as necessary
