- Vehicle Conditions to Enable DTC Setting Strategy
- Normal driving above 1200 rpm
- Prioritized Checks to Perform
- Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the knock sensor circuit for short circuit to power. Check the electrical connectors for evidence of water ingress. Check the terminals for damage and corrosion. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
- Check the engine for abnormal engine noise that may corrupt the knock sensor signal. Rectify as necessary
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, run application - ECU Diagnostics/Powertrain Control Module (PCM)/Clear Diagnostic Trouble Code(s). Retest
- Check the resistance of the knock sensor (should be greater than 4 mega-ohms). Install a new knock sensor as necessary
