DTC P2170-4B Exhaust Pressure Regulator Vent Solenoid Control Circuit Low - Over temperature: Action
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Vehicle Conditions to Enable DTC Setting Strategy
- Start engine, increase engine speed to 4000 RPM for 2 seconds, return to idle speed
- Prioritized Checks to Perform
- Inspect connectors for signs of water ingress and pins for damage and/or corrosion
- Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the active exhaust actuator power and ground circuits for open circuit, high resistance. Actuator resistance should be approximately 40 ohms. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
- Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the active exhaust actuator control circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
- Remove the active exhaust actuator. Check the active exhaust valve for seizure. Rectify as necessary
- Start the engine and accelerate it through the rev range 800 RPM to 4000 RPM. The valve should be observed as switching open/closed if it is working correctly (observable from the tailpipe). Install a new active exhaust actuator as necessary
