DTC P0196-2A: Engine Oil Temperature Sensor "A" Range/Performance - Signal stuck in range: Action
- Vehicle Conditions to Enable DTC Setting Strategy
- Start and drive vehicle at steady state, low load condition for 20 minutes
- Prioritized Checks to Perform
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the oil pressure and temperature sensor circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance. Check the electrical connectors for evidence of water ingress. Check the terminals for damage and corrosion. Repair the wiring harness as necessary
- Install a new oil pressure and temperature sensor
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, run application - ECU Diagnostics/Powertrain Control Module (PCM)/Clear Diagnostic Trouble Code(s). Retest
