DTC P18A5-64: Motion/Position Sensor "A" Signal Circuit - Signal plausibility failure: Action
NOTE:
If this DTC is logged with P18A5-13 the sensor cables may be shorted together. Check for this prior to performing further diagnostic procedures
- If available using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, select one of the following guided diagnostic concern areas below, or select the guided diagnostic using the available tab
- Powertrain - Transmission and Driveline - Loss Of Traction
- Warning - Messages - 2 wheel drive only - traction reduced
- Check for any ground noise within the powertrain system that could be transmitted on driveline system circuit. Repair circuit as necessary
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, re-configure the all wheel drive control module with the latest level software. Clear the DTC and retest
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, perform routine - On-Demand-Self-Test, repair any issues reported by the test
- Refer to the appropriate system wiring diagrams and check the rear drive unit signal circuit for open circuit, high resistance and check the left rear drive unit actuator hall sensor circuits for short circuit to each other. If a circuit fault is present, repair the circuit as necessary. Clear the DTCs and retest
- If the fault persists, check and install a new all wheel drive control module as necessary. Clear the DTCs and retest
- If the fault persists, check and install a new left rear drive unit actuator motor as necessary
