Section 397 (Sliding Roof System): Replacement

HINT:
The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.
- REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GUIDE RAIL COVER LH
- Disengage the 3 claws and remove the rail cover.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GUIDE RAIL COVER RH
- Disengage the 3 claws and remove the rail cover.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH
- Disengage the 4 claws and remove the garnish.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH
- Disengage the 4 claws and remove the garnish.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSY
- Using a Torx wrench (T25), remove the 4 screws and sliding roof glass.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING BRACKET NO.1
- Remove the 4 bolts and 2 housing brackets.
- REMOVE SLIDING REAR MOUNTING BRACKET
- Remove the 4 bolts and 2 rear mounting brackets.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSY
- Disconnect the 4 drain hoses.
- Remove the 6 nuts and housing sub-assy.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSY
- Disconnect the drive gear connector.
- Remove the 2 bolts and drive gear sub-assy.
- REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SUNSHADE STOPPER
- Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 sunshade stoppers.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE SUNSHADE TRIM SUB-ASSY
- Sliding the sunshade trim backward, remove it.
- ADJUST FULLY CLOSED POSITION
- Using a screwdriver, slide the drive cable of the sliding roof to align the matchmarks.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSY
- Check for a difference in levels between the sliding roof (weatherstrip) and roof panel.
Dimension (Corner of rear side):
0 +/- 1.5 mm (0 +/- 0.059 in.)
- Check for a difference in levels between the sliding roof (roof glass) and roof panel.
Dimension: 21.4 mm (0.843 in.)
NOTE: The clearance should be all around even. - Check for a difference in levels between the sliding roof (weatherstrip) and roof panel.
- ADJUST SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSY
- Adjust the roof panel.
- Using a Torx wrench T25, loosen a screw to adjust the sliding roof panel position. When the adjustment has been done, tighten the screw there.
- Adjust the roof panel.
- RESET SLIDING ROOF POSITION (See RESET )
- INSPECT FOR LEAKS
- Adjusting the sliding roof, check that there is no water leak.
If water leaks, readjust the sliding roof.
