Inspection Procedure

  1. Check power steering oil pressure sensor. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Connect the hand-held tester or the OBD II scan tool to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Push the hand-held tester or the OBD II scan tool main switch ON.
    4. Enter following menus: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST / ALL / PS SINGAL.

    CHECK: 

    Read signal displayed on the hand-held tester or the OBD II scan tool.

    RESULT:

    1. OK: Check for intermittent problems (See  PRE-CHECK   ). 
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  2. Check for open in harness and connector between engine ECU and power steering oil pressure sensor (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector. 
    2. OK: Replace power steering oil pressure sensor (See  REMOVAL  ).
