Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the unlock warning switch.

      Standard: 

    Multiplex network body ECU 

    READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

    Item Measurement Item/Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
    KEY UNLK WRN SW Unlock warning switch signal/ON or OFF ON: Key is in ignition key cylinder
    OFF: No key is in ignition key cylinder
    -
    1. OK: Go to step   4 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  2. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Remove the unlock warning switch.
    2. Check the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH TERMINALS RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Free 10 kΩ or higher
      Pushed Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY - MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the K4 switch and B4 ECU connectors.
    2. Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      RESISTANCE BETWEEN UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY AND MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU CONNECTOR TERMINALS

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      K4-2 - B4-21 (KSW) Below 1 Ω
      K4-1 - Body ground

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU 
  4. READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER (DRIVER SIDE DOOR COURTESY LAMP (SWITCH) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the driver side door courtesy lamp switch.

      Standard: 

      Multiplex network body ECU 

      VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

      Item Measurement Item/Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      D DOR CTY SW Driver side door courtesy lamp switch signal/ON or OFF ON: Driver side door is open
      OFF: Driver side door is closed
      -
    1. OK: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU 
    2. NG: Go to next step 
  5. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY (DRIVER SIDE) 
    1. Remove the courtesy lamp switch.
    2. Check the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      COURTESY LAMP SWITCH TERMINALS RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Free Below 1 Ω
      Pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY (DRIVER SIDE) 
    2. OK: Go to next step 
  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY (DRIVER SIDE) - MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the D6 switch and B6 ECU connectors.
    2. Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard (Check for open circuit): 

      RESISTANCE BETWEEN FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH AND MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU CONNECTOR TERMINALS

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D6-1 - B6-14 (DCTY) Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU
