Inspection Procedure

Check power steering oil pressure sensor.

PREPARATION:

Connect the hand-held tester or the OBD II scan tool to the DLC3.
Start the engine.
Push the hand-held tester or the OBD II scan tool main switch ON.
Enter the following menus: DIAGNOSIS/ENHANCED OBD II/DATA LIST/ALL/PS OIL PRESS SW.

CHECK:

Read signal displayed on the hand-held tester or the OBD II scan tool.

RESULT:

RESULT

Condition	Power steering oil pressure sensor
Turning the steering wheel until it is locked	ON
In an idle	OFF

OK: Check for intermittent problems (See PRE-CHECK ).

NG: Go to next step.

Check for open in harness and connector between engine ECU and power steering oil pressure sensor (See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.

OK: Replace power steering oil pressure sensor (See REMOVAL ).
