Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FREQUENCY RECEIVING CONDITION 
    1. Check if the vehicle is located in areas as described below:
      1. Areas, facilities or devices that use similar radio frequencies are located in the vicinity of the vehicle.

        HINT:

        If the vehicle is located in areas described above, the tire pressure warning light may come on only in a particular area.

      2. Devices using similar radio frequencies are used in the vehicle.

    HINT:

    Radio frequency may be interrupted according to surroundings or devices installed by user.

    NG: CHECK IF ANY DEVICE IS INSTALLED BY USER 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Check for a DTC (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

    Result 

    RESULT

    Condition Proceed to
    Any of the DTCs from C2111/11 to C2114/14 are output. 
    Any of the DTCs from C2121/21 to C2124/24 are output. 

    B: Go to STEP   4 

    A: Go To Next Step 

  3. PERFORM FORCED TRANSMISSION OF TRANSMITTER ID OF 4 WHEELS 
    1. Set the tire pressure to the specified value.
    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.
    4. Select "Tire Inflation Pressure" by following the prompts displayed on the intelligent tester.

    5. Rapidly release the pressures from each wheel by approximately 40 kPa (0.4 kgf/cm2 , 5.8 psi)/30 seconds or more.
      1. Check that each tire pressure data displayed on the intelligent tester screen has changed.

        OK: Each tire pressure data displayed on the intelligent tester screen will change to the value of the tire pressure. 

        NOTE:
        • It takes about 1 minute or more to display the updated tire pressure data.
        • When the "Tire Inflation Pressure" data has not changed, reset the tire pressure to the appropriate specified value and rotate the tire 90 to 270 degrees. Then rapidly release the tire pressure and recheck it.
      2. After confirming that all of the tire pressure data displayed on the intelligent tester screen have changed, set the tire pressures to the appropriate specified values.

        HINT:

        If the tire pressure data displayed on the intelligent tester screen has not changed after rechecking, go to other problem procedure (For malfunction in transmission or reception function (See DTC C2141/41 Transmitter ID1 Error: DTC C2142/42 Transmitter ID2 Error: DTC C2143/43 Transmitter ID3 Error: DTC C2144/44 Transmitter ID4 Error  ).

    NG: Go to step   4 

    OK: END 

  4. CHECK DTC 
    1. Check for a TEST MODE DTC (See TEST MODE PROCEDURE  ).
    DTC REFERENCE

    Condition Proceed to
    DTC C2195/95 is output. A (See DTC C2195/95 Multi-receiver Antenna Circuit (Test Mode DTC)  )
    DTC C2195/95 is not output. B

    A: REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS 

    B: Go To Next Step 

  5. CHECK DTC 
    1. Check for a DTC (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

    Result 

    DTC REFERENCE

    Condition Proceed to
    DTC C2176/76 is output.  A (See  DTC C2176/76 Receiver Error   ) 
    DTC C2176/76 is not output. 

    A: REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS 

    B: Go To Next Step 

  6. CHECK DTC 
    1. Check for DTC (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

    Result

    Condition Proceed to
    Any of the DTCs from C2111/11 to C2114/14 or C2121/21 to C2124/ 24 are output. 
    All of the DTCs from C2111/11 to C2114/14 or C2121/21 to C2124/24 are output. 

    A: Go to STEP   9 

    B: Go To Next Step 

  7. CHECK TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SELECT SWITCH 
    1. Switch the tire pressure warning select switch to the other position (MAIN to 2nd or 2nd to MAIN).

      HINT:

      If the IDs of the installed tire and wheel set and the select switch do not match, this DTC will be output.

    2. Read the values of DATA LIST.
    3. Select TIREPRESS by following the prompts displayed on the intelligent tester.

      HINT:

      It may take up to 1 minute to display the tire pressure data.

    PRESSURE CONDITION REFERENCE

    Condition Proceed to
    All tire pressure readings are equal to specified values. A
    Tire pressure values not display. B

    B: Go to step   8 

    A: END 

  8. RETURN TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SELECT SWITCH TO ORIGINAL POSITION 

    HINT:

    Return the tire pressure warning select switch to the position before switching in the previous step.

    NEXT: Go To Next Step 

  9. IDENTIFY TRANSMITTER CORRESPONDING TO DTC 
    1. Set the tire pressure to the appropriate specified values.
    2. Select the "Tire inflation Pressure" by following the prompts displayed on the intelligent tester.

    3. Rapidly reduce the tire pressure for each wheel by approximately 40 kPa (0.4 kgf/cm2 , 58 psi)/30 sec. or more.
    4. Check the DATA LIST.

      NOTE:
      • It takes about 1 minute or more to display the updated tire pressure data.
      • When no "Tire Inflation Pressure" data has changed, reset the tire pressure to the appropriate specified value and rotate the tire 90 to 270 degrees. Then rapidly release the tire pressure and recheck it.
      • Record the transmitter ID of which "Tire Inflation Pressure" data corresponds to each tire.
    5. After confirming that one of "Tire Inflation Pressure" data (ID1 to ID4) has changed, repeat this procedure one by one. And identify the transmitter that is corresponding to DTC.

    NEXT: Go To Next Step 

  10. INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING VALVE AND TRANSMITTER 
    1. Select REGIT ID CODE by following the prompts displayed on the intelligent tester.

    2. Check for the ID number on the identified transmitter by removing it from the tire and wheel.
    3. Confirm that the ID number on the transmitter and recorded transmitter ID are matched.

  12. REGISTRATION OF TRANSMITTER ID

  14. READ VALUE OF DATA LIST 
    1. Read the values of DATA LIST.
    2. Select TIREPRESS by following the prompts displayed on the intelligent tester.

      HINT:

      It may take up to 1 minute to display the tire pressure data.
