Inspection Procedure

1. Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

1. Initialize the rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point (see CALIBRATION  )

1. Check for DTCs (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

   NOTE: If a DTC is output even though the rotation angle sensor value initialization and steering zero point calibration have been performed, confirm the procedure again, and perform the calibration and initialization 3 times.

   HINT.

   Replace the power steering ECU if DTCs are still output after performing rotation angle sensor value initialization and steering zero point calibration 3 times

   • If a DTC is output even though the rotation angle sensor value initialization and steering zero point calibration have been performed, confirm the procedure again, and perform the calibration and initialization 3 times.
   • If replacing the power steering gear, clear the rotation angle sensor calibration value, initialize the rotation angle sensor value, and calibrate the torque sensor zero point (see CALIBRATION  ).

   HINT

   Replace the power steering gear if DTCs are still output after performing rotation angle sensor value initialization and steering zero point calibration 3 times.
