DTC P0715: Input / Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction; DTC P0717: Input Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal: Procedure
- INSPECT SPEED SENSOR (SENSOR INSTALLATION)
- Make sure that the connector is properly connected, and check the speed sensor installation.
OK
The installation bolt is tightened properly and there is no clearance between the sensor and transaxle case.
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE SPEED SENSOR
OK: Go to next step
- Make sure that the connector is properly connected, and check the speed sensor installation.
- CHECK TRANSMISSION WIRE
- Remove the TCM.
- Disconnect the speed sensor connector from the transmission wire.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Condition Condition Specified Condition NTO - NTO Always Below 1 Ω NTB - NTB Always Below 1 Ω NTO - NTB Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- REPLACE SPEED SENSOR
NEXT: Go to next step
- CHECK IF DTC OUTPUT RECURS (SEE IF DTC P0715 AND/OR P0717 IS OUTPUT AGAIN)
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Start the engine and turn the Techstream main switch ON.
- Perform the monitor drive pattern. Refer to MONITOR DRIVE PATTERN .
- When you use Techstream:
Select the item "Powertrain / ECT / Trouble Codes".
- Read the DTCs using Techstream.
