DTC C1516: Torque Sensor Zero Point Adjustment Incomplete; DTC C1526: Rotation Angle Sensor Initialization Incomplete: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. INITIALIZE ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR AND CALIBRATE TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      A DTCs are still output after performing rotation angle sensor initialization and steering zero point calibration 3 times.
      B DTCs are still output after performing rotation angle sensor initialization and steering zero point calibration once or twice.
      C Normal system code is output.

      HINT: 

      Replace the power steering ECU assembly if DTCs are still output after performing rotation angle sensor initialization and steering zero point calibration 3 times.

  4. REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  5. CLEAR DTC 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  6. INITIALIZE ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR AND CALIBRATE TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT 
    1. Initialize the rotation angle sensor and calibrate the torque sensor zero point. Refer to CALIBRATION .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  7. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Result

      A DTCs are still output after performing rotation angle sensor initialization and steering zero point calibration 3 times.
      B DTCs are still output after performing rotation angle sensor initialization and steering zero point calibration once or twice.
      C Normal system code is output.

      HINT: 

      Replace the power steering link assembly if DTCs are still output after performing rotation angle sensor initialization and steering zero point calibration 3 times.

      NOTE:
      • If replacing the power steering link assembly, clear the rotation angle sensor calibration value, initialize the rotation angle sensor, and calibrate the torque sensor zero point. Refer to CALIBRATION .
      • If replacing the power steering link assembly, perform VGRS actuator angle initialization and VGRS actuator angle neutral calibration after wheel alignment adjustment. Refer to INITIALIZATION for INITIALIZATION, refer to CALIBRATION for CALIBRATION).
