Entry Lock Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT ENTRY LOCK SWITCH 
    1. Remove the outside handle.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Front LH side 

      Front RH side 

      Rear LH side 

      Rear RH side 

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      a1-1 (TRG-) - a1-3 (TRG+) Lock switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      Lock switch pushed Below 1 Ω
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      Z1-1 (TRG-) - Z1-3 (TRG+) Lock switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      Lock switch pushed Below 1 Ω
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      c1-1 (TRG-) - c1-3 (TRG+) Lock switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      Lock switch pushed Below 1 Ω
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      b1-1 (TRG-) - b1-3 (TRG+) Lock switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      Lock switch pushed Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - ENTRY LOCK SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the E13 and E14 ECU connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Front LH side 

      Front RH side 

      Rear LH side 

      Rear RH side 

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E13-3 (TSW1) - a1-3 (TRG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E13-3 (TSW1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E13-4 (TSW2) - Z1-3 (TRG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E13-4 (TSW2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E14-25 (TSW3) - c1-3 (TRG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E14-25 (TSW3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      E14-26 (TSW4) - b1-3 (TRG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E14-26 (TSW4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - ENTRY LOCK SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the electrical key oscillator connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Front LH side 

      Front RH side 

      Rear LH side 

      Rear RH side 

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      a2-9 (TRG-) - a1-1 (TRG-) Always Below 1 Ω
      a2-9 (TRG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      Z2-9 (TRG-) - Z1-1 (TRG-) Always Below 1 Ω
      Z2-9 (TRG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      c2-9 (TRG-) - c1-1 (TRG-) Always Below 1 Ω
      c2-9 (TRG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      b2-9 (TRG-) - b1-1 (TRG-) Always Below 1 Ω
      b2-9 (TRG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK AND REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR 
    1. Replace the electrical key oscillator.
    2. Check that the entry LOCK/UNLOCK function operates normally.

      OK

      Entry LOCK/UNLOCK function operates normally.

    NG → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    OK → END (ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE)
