Luggage Compartment Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate when Key is Outside Luggage Compartment: Procedure

  1. CHECK LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Turn the luggage door opening switch OFF and check that the entry luggage compartment door opener function operates normally.

      OK

      Entry luggage compartment door opener function operates normally.

    OK → END 

    NG: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK MANUAL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER OPERATION 
    1. Check that the manual luggage compartment door opener function operates normally.

      OK

      Manual luggage compartment door opener function operates normally.

    NG → GO TO  LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SYSTEM  LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SYSTEM 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK WIRELESS LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER OPERATION 
    1. Check that the wireless luggage compartment door opener function operates normally.

      OK

      Wireless luggage compartment door opener function operates normally

    NG → GO TO  WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM  WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL FUNCTION 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK OPERATION OF KEY 
    1. After replacing the key with a normally functioning one, check that the wireless luggage compartment door opener function operates normally.

      OK

      Wireless luggage compartment door opener function operates normally.

    OK → END (KEY IS DEFECTIVE) 

    NG: Go to next step 

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA [for Outer]) 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the antenna (for outer) operates.
      CERTIFICATION ECU:

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Outside Trunk/Back Door Transmitter Luggage compartment door outer antenna ON / OFF -

      OK

      When key is brought close to luggage compartment door, antenna (for outer) is turned OFF and indicator on key illuminates.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK SWITCH) 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the door lock switch.
      CERTIFICATION ECU:

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Luggage Door Lock/Unlock Switch Luggage compartment door lock / unlock switch / ON or OFF ON: Luggage compartment door lock switch is pushed
      OFF: Luggage compartment door lock switch is not pushed
      -

      OK

      ON (luggage compartment door lock is pushed) appears on the screen.

    NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK OPERATION OF CERTIFICATION ECU 
    1. After replacing the certification ECU with a normal one, check that the entry luggage compartment door lock functions operates normally.

      OK

      Entry luggage compartment door lock function operates normally.

    NG → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU LH 

    OK → END (CERTIFICATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE) 

  8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - ANTENNA)

    1. Disconnect the U28 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the U32 antenna connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      U28-31 (CLG8) - U32-1 (CLG5) Below 1 Ω
      U28-32 (CG8B) - U32-2 (CLGB) Below 1 Ω
      U28-31 (CLG8) or U32-1 (CLG5) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      U28-32 (CG8B) or U32-2 (CLGB) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK LUGGAGE ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA (for Outer) 
    1. After replacing the luggage electrical key antenna (for outer) with a normal one, check that the luggage entry unlock functions operates normally.

      OK

      Luggage entry unlock function operates normally.

    OK → END (LUGGAGE ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA IS DEFECTIVE [for Outer]) 

    NG → REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
