Pattern Select Switch Power Mode Circuit: Procedure

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

Tester Connection	Specified Condition
J36-3 (E) - Body ground	Below 1 Ω

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK: Go to next step

INSPECT PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
3 - 7	Pattern select switch (PWR)	Below 1 Ω
↑	Pattern select switch (NORM)	10 kΩ or higher

NG → See step 5

OK: Go to next step

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU)

Connect the connector of pattern select switch.

Measure the resistance between terminal PWR of the cowl side junction block RH (main body ECU RH) and body ground.

Standard resistance

Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
J75 - 18 (PWR) - Body ground	Pattern select switch (PWR)	Below 1 Ω
↑	Pattern select switch (NORM)	10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK → See step 4

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
REPLACE PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
