Rear Door LH Entry Lock Function does not Operate: Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    1. When the multiplex network master switch assembly's door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Door locks operate normally OK
      Door locks do not operate normally NG

    NG → See step   10 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.
      REAR LEFT DOOR (REAR DOOR ECU LH)

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition
      Lock Position SW Rear LH side door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Rear LH side door is unlocked
      OFF: Rear LH side door is locked

      OK

      On the screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

    NG → See step   12 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (OUTSIDE HANDLE) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.
      REAR LEFT DOOR (REAR DOOR ECU LH)

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Display Normal Condition
      Outside Handle Trigger SW Rear LH side door outside handle lock switch / ON or OFF ON: Rear LH side door outside handle lock switch is pushed
      OFF: Rear LH side door outside handle lock switch is not pushed

      OK

      On the screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK REAR DOOR ECU LH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the rear door ECU LH with a new one or normally functioning one. Refer toCOMPONENTS .
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK

      Operates normally

    NG → REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    OK → END (REAR DOOR ECU LH IS DEFECTIVE) 

  5. CHECK REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      d1-1 (TRG-) - d1-3 (TRG+) ON Below 1 Ω
      d1-1 (TRG-) - d1-3 (TRG+) OFF 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   11 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH - REAR DOOR ECU LH)

    1. Disconnect the d1 handle connector.
    2. Disconnect the O14 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      d1-3 (TRG+) - O14-20 (TRG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      d1-3 (TRG+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR)

    1. Disconnect the d1 handle connector.
    2. Disconnect the d2 oscillator connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      d1-1 (TRG-) - d2-9 (TRG-) Always Below 1 Ω
      d1-1 (TRG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the door electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one. Refer toCOMPONENTS .
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK

      Operates normally

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → END (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE) 

  9. CHECK REAR DOOR ECU LH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the rear door ECU LH with a new one or normally functioning one. Refer toCOMPONENTS .
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK

      Operates normally

    NG → REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    OK → END (REAR DOOR ECU LH IS DEFECTIVE) 

  10. GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to PRECAUTION 
  11. REPLACE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE LH. Refer to COMPONENTS 
  12. GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (Proceed to Only Rear Door LH LOCK/UNLOCK Functions do not Operate). Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
