Steering Column Assembly: Disassembly: Disassembly

NOTE:

When using a vise, do not overtighten it.

  1. REMOVE STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Secure the steering column assembly in a vise.
    2. Using a center punch, mark the center of the 2 tapered-head bolts.
    3. Using a 3 to 4 mm (0.118 to 0.157 in.) diameter drill bit, drill a hole in each tapered-head bolt.
    4. Using a screw extractor, remove each tapered-head bolt and steering lock actuator assembly from the steering column assembly.

      *1 Screw Extractor
  2. REMOVE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU.

    2. Remove the bolt and the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU.
