Visual Mute Signal Circuit between Navigation ECU and Multi-display: Procedure

  1. INSPECT MULTIMEDIA MODULE WIRE 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F37-9 (VMT1) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC), screen display changes. 3.5 V or higher → Below 1 V → 3.5 V or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component with harness connected
      (Multimedia Module Wire)

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   5 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the F37 multimedia module wire connector.
    2. Disconnect the F31 display and navigation module display connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F37-9 (VMT1) - F31-11 (VMTF) Always Below 1 Ω
      F37-9 (VMT1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE MULTIMEDIA MODULE WIRE 
    1. Replace the multimedia module wire and check if the navigation system operates normally. Refer to DISASSEMBLY .

      OK

      The navigation system operates normally.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → END 

  4. REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY 
    1. Replace the multi-display and check if the navigation system operates normally. Refer to DISASSEMBLY .

      OK

      The navigation system operates normally.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → END 

  5. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  6. REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY. Refer to  REMOVAL
