Voice Guidance does not Function: Procedure

  1. CHECK VOICE GUIDANCE SETTING 
    1. Display the "Voice Settings" screen.
    2. Check that "Voice Volume" is not "Off".

      OK

      Voice volume is not "Off".

    NG → TURN VOICE VOLUME EXCEPT "Off" 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DATA DISC 
    1. Check that the data disc is not deformed or cracked.

      OK

      No deformations or cracks on the data disc

    NG → REPLACE DATA DISC 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK CABIN 
    1. Check that condensation is not likely to occur in the cabin, and that the temperature is not high or extremely low in the cabin.

      HINT: 

      • A humid cabin and a rapid change in temperature may lead to condensation. Condensation in the cabin may cause a short circuit.
      • The audio and visual system may not operate normally when the temperature is -20°C (-4°F) or lower, or 65°C (149°F) or higher.

      OK

      Condensation is not likely being produced and the temperature is not high or extremely low.

    NG → SET CABIN TO APPROPRIATE TEMPERATURE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK AUDIO FUNCTION 
    1. Check that audio sound can be heard from the driver side speaker.

      OK

      Sound can be heard from the audio system.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → See step   6 

  5. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  6. REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY. Refer to  REMOVAL
