How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
HINT:
- Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobiliser system.
- The Techstream should be used in steps 3, 4 and 6.

- CRANK ENGINE FOR MORE THAN 10 SECONDS
NEXT: Go to next step
- INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)
- Use the Techstream to check for normal function of the multiplex communication system (BEAN).
- (ECU connected, communication line malfunctioning) Without code outputs, proceed to A.
- (ECU connected, communication line malfunctioning) With code outputs, proceed to B.
B → Go to MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SECTION
A: Go to next step
- Use the Techstream to check for normal function of the multiplex communication system (BEAN).
- CHECK FOR DTC
- Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
- Delete the DTC.
- Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output above, try to duplicate the SFI system DTC or engine immobiliser system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.

- PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- If the fault is not listed on the problem symptoms table, proceed to A.
- If the fault is listed on the problem symptoms table, proceed to B.

- DATA LIST/ACTIVE TEST. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .
- Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU .
