Wireless Transmitter Memory Function does not Operate: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2012 - ] .

      OK

      CAN communication DTC is not output.

    NG → See step   19 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 
    1. Check the manual lock/unlock function by using the multiplex network master switch assembly. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2012 - ] .

      OK

      Manual lock/unlock function operates normally.

    NG → See step   16 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (for Start Function) 
    1. Check that the hybrid control system starts normally when the power switch is pressed with carrying the key and the brake pedal depressed. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2012 - ] .

      OK

      Hybrid control system starts normally.

    NG → See step   20 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK SEAT POSITION MEMORY FUNCTION 
    1. Perform a seat position memory function. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2012 - ] .
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the seat position memory function.
      NOTE:
      • The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
      • If a memorizing operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.

      OK

      Seat position memory function operates normally.

    NG → See step   21 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK SEAT POSITION RESTORING FUNCTION 
    1. Perform a seat position restoring function. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2012 - ] .
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the seat automatically moves to the memorized position.
      NOTE:
      • The seat position will not return to the memorized position if 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
      • If a restoring operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory restoring function does not operate unless the switches are released.

      OK

      Seat position restoring function operates normally.

    NG → See step   15 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DRIVER DOOR COURTESY SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      MAIN BODY (MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU))

      ON or OFF appears on the screen according to the driver door condition.

  7. CHECK MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION FUNCTION 
    1. When the following conditions are met, press the manual lock or unlock switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly.
      • Power switch is off
      • Press and hold the M1, M2 or M3 seat memory switch
      • Driver door closed
      • Carry the key
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the memory call registration function. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2012 - ] .

      OK

      Buzzer sounds normally.

    NG → See step   10 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

  9. CHECK MEMORY CALL FUNCTION 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Close and lock all doors.
    3. Unlock the driver door by pressing the unlock switch of the memory call registered key or touching the driver door outside handle with holding the memory call registered key.
    4. Open the driver door and check that the driver seat moves to the memorized position. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2012 - ] .

      OK

      Driver seat moves to the memorized position.

  10. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Replace the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION FUNCTION 
    1. When the following conditions are met, press the manual lock or unlock switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly.
      • Power switch is off
      • Press and hold the M1, M2 or M3 seat memory switch
      • Driver door closed
      • Carry the key
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the memory call registration function. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2012 - ] .

      OK

      Buzzer sounds normally.

    NG → See step   12 

    OK → END (MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  12. REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the position control ECU and switch assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  13. CHECK MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION FUNCTION 
    1. When the following conditions are met, press the manual lock or unlock switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly.
      • Power switch is off
      • Press and hold the M1, M2 or M3 seat memory switch
      • Driver door closed
      • Carry the key
    2. Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the memory call registration function. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2012 - ] .

      OK

      Buzzer sounds normally.

    NG → See step   23 

    OK → END (POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  14. GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM (Door Courtesy Switch Circuit). Refer to  Door Courtesy Switch Circuit 
  15. GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (Power Seat does not Return to Memorized Position). Refer to  Power Seat does not Return to Memorized Position  
  16. GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2012 - ] 
  17. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] 
  18. GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (Wireless-linked Return Function does not Operate). Refer to  Wireless-linked Return Function does not Operate  
  19. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2012 - ] 
  20. GO TO SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (for Start Function). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2012 - ] 
  21. GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (Power Seat Position is not Memorized). Refer to  Power Seat Position is not Memorized  
  22. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2012 - ] 
  23. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ]
