DTC B1771: Passenger Side Buckle Switch Circuit Malfunction: Procedure
- CHECK FOR DTC
- Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2012 - ]

HINT:
First clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU, and then clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor.
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2012 - ]

DTC B1771 is not output.

- CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTOR
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
- Check that the connectors are properly connected to the occupant classification ECU and front seat inner belt RH.

Connectors are properly connected.
NG → CONNECT CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK CONNECTOR
- Disconnect the connectors from the occupant classification ECU and front seat inner belt RH.
- Check that the connectors (on the occupant classification ECU side and front passenger side buckle switch side) are not damaged. Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE [06/2012 - ]

Connectors are not deformed or damaged.

- CHECK FRONT SEAT WIRE RH (FRONT SEAT INNER BELT RH - OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU)
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- Turn the engine switch off.

- Replace the front seat inner belt RH. Refer to REMOVAL [06/2012 - ]

Perform the inspection using parts from a normal vehicle when possible.
- Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2012 - ]
