Main Switch Circuit [03/2012 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Blind spot monitor Master / Data list.
    5. According to the display on Techstream, read the Data List.
      BLIND SPOT MONITOR MASTER

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      BSM Main SW Blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) / ON or OFF ON: Blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) on
      OFF: Blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) off

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH (WARNING CANCELING SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly). Refer to REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012] .
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      6 (B) - 7 (D) Blind spot monitor main switch assembly is on (not protruding) Below 1 Ω
      6 (B) - 7 (D) Blind spot monitor main switch assembly is off (protruding) 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Blind Spot Monitor Main Switch (Warning Canceling Switch Assembly))

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the F99 blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F99-6 (B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      F99-6 (B) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH) 
    1. Disconnect the W3 blind spot monitor sensor LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W3-8 (BSSW) - F99-7 (D) Always Below 1 Ω
      W3-8 (BSSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   7 

  5. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [03/2012 - 07/2012] 
  6. REPLACE BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH (WARNING CANCELING SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012] 
  7. REPLACE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2012 - ]
