Wiper ECU Power Source Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. w/ Auto Wiper System:
      1. Disconnect the F42 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        F42-3 (WIG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
        F42-17 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        F42-1 (EW) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    2. w/o Auto Wiper System:
      1. Disconnect the F42 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        F42-17 (+B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        F42-1 (EW) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

        *1 Front view of wire harness connector
        (to Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   2 

  2. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [03/2012 - 07/2012]
